The Summer Trend Edit #Summer17

This summer, an old wavelength of style seems to be making its way back into the racks. Reminiscent of a country-style picnic, a French girl in the riviera, or even Dorothy from the Wizard of OZ, we are loving this vibe lately of stripped down, easy dressing.

See below some of the trends we are loving this summer!

Gingham

A modern twist has been given to the old school gingham print that Marylin Monroe and Brigette Bardot dotted back in the day. What we love most about this print, is how put together an outfit looks. It’s simple yet interesting and quirky at the same time. The key to wearing this pattern is keeping everything else simple so it doesn’t look too overdone.

Cat eye sunglasses

This classic shape has been revamped with a slighter sharper edge. Worn with a casual outfit, a pair of cat-eye sunnies can bring out a bit over understated sophistication this summer. To bring out the shape, wear them with your hair tucked back!

Summer Bags

To add to the vintage vibe that has been taking over style this year, straw, wicker, wood and basket bags have been a staple piece this summer. These kind of bags add a certain freshness to any look, making it more breezy and casual. Rather than ruining your leather bags in the heat, it’s easier to opt for a a basket bag that won’t be damaging in the sun. Regardless of the benefits, we just love the way these bags look for the summer!

Simple Dresses

Between us, we like to refer to these as “French girl dresses”. These are the kind that are so simple and breezy and have very little patterns, zippers, bows etc. One of our favorite brands that creates this kind of look impeccably, is Reformation. Their designs are so effortless yet extremely put together at the same time. Reformation is on the pricier side but that are plenty of brands out there emulating this style and we love it!

hope you all have a lovely babes!

xx,

D & V
