Where the cool kids at

For the most part, living in Miami consists of fall weather deprivation but it never quite stops us from adapting fall style into our wardrobe. Even though we don’t feel much of a change in seasons, fall always represents a fresh start when it comes to dressing the part. This year, we have noticed some 70s-inspired prints that have made themselves back into the runaway’s of the world’s most renowned designers and high-street stores are creating wearable versions of these looks for a more attainable style.

Being in the “blogging” world can sometimes feel a bit mundane when it comes to drawing inspiration. At times, it’s nice to take a step back and look at some cutting-edge runways shows and adapting new trends in our own way. Fall 2017 has shown it’s main inspiration being menswear and you might just find some of these pieces in the back of your mom’s closet (or your man’s)!

See below some of our favorite fall 2017 trends!

Checked print: Inarguably, this is one of the most distinct trends of this season. This pattern is everywhere! With designers such as Calvin Klein, Stella McCartney and Jason Wu to name a few, this plaid obsession is clearly evident. Luckily for us, we can head over to stores such as Zara, Bershka, Mango etc to find items with this kind of print at a fraction of the price. Remember, trends come and go just like shitty boyfriends!

News boy caps: A major throwback to the 1940’s, this trend has made itself back into the heads of girls and guys in 2017. The retro hat is spin on the old-school news boy cap that our grandfather’s used to wear. Designers like Maison Margiela & Marc Jacobs have created their own version of these caps with a bit more structure and we are loving them!

Blazers: Even though this is major trend this year, we have always loved a good blazer. With jeans, over a dress, or with matching trousers, there’s is nothing more attractive than a woman in a suit. This is one the few trends that we would say is worth a splurge if you find a good blazer that is well fitting because they can ultimately last a lifetime.

Polka dots: This trend has carried over from late summer and designers like Balenciaga, Loewe and Zimmerman have all brought back this monochrome staple print that we’ve all been wearing for decades.

Statement Pants: Women’s fashion has undeniably taken a more masculine route these past years and we’re not mad about it. Being comfortable is our number one style tip and statement pants can be a fresh twist to the everyday jean.

Red: This one is a little out of our color palette, and comfort zone if we must admit. Red has been the color of the year and will probably make its way into the next seasons to come. Top designer brands such as, Givenchy, Oscar De La Renta and Fendi, have made their collections this season with bold red pieces. Who knows… maybe we’ll give it a shot this season!
